Spurs star Dejan Kulusevski was reduced to tears on Tuesday evening as he watched Sweden defeat Poland 3-2 in their play-off clash in Stockholm to secure their place at this summer's World Cup. The midfielder's emotional display came on the very same day his club confirmed Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager. Kulusevski's Swedish team-mate Yasin Ayari was quizzed by reporters about the 25-year-old "crying in the stands" after the final whistle.

The Tottenham ace's reaction was arguably an overwhelming release of emotion following a wretched season that has seen him sidelined with injury. Ayari said: "As I have said before, I know how much it means to him. Now we are there, we did it for him, for the Swedish people and for ourselves. So I'm happy for him. I think we can win the whole World Cup. We have a good squad and believe in ourselves. We have always believed in ourselves."

Kulusevski made the trip to Valencia to cheer Sweden on in their play-off semi-final against Ukraine last Thursday before rallying behind his team-mates on home soil.
