Newcastle United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is one of eight players to have left the England camp ahead of Tuesday night's friendly with Japan.

Thomas Tuchel made the decision to call up 35 players for the two matches in the current international break, but confirmed some would only take part in one matchday squad.

Ramsdale, who is on loan at United from Southampton, was included in the initial group, but will now return to Tyneside following the 1-1 draw with Uruguay on Friday night.

Newcastle stars Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon are expected to play some part against Japan, and will join United team-mates Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento and Harvey Barnes in the 27-man squad, with the trio all featuring against Uruguay.

Fikayo Tomori and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have also departed the group, along with Man City defender John Stones, who picked up an injury in Friday's game.
