Tino Livramento has admitted it was far from easy parking any Tyne-Wear derby devastation to switch attention to securing his World Cup place.

The Newcastle United full-back was the first player to mention the derby defeat away from club media channels and needed no reminder that the clash against Sunderland was in the must-win category, only for the Magpies to splutter to defeat in the 90th minute to a Brian Brobbey goal.

Livramento tried to move on from the 2-1 loss to put in a solid display for England at Wembley in the 1-1 draw with Uruguay. But when asked if it was tricky attempting to recover from the pain of losing to Sunderland, he told reporters: "Of course - it’s not nice losing a derby.
