Illness will likely stop Aaron Ramsey from making an anticipated return to the Leicester City squad this weekend.

The attacking midfielder has been training for a couple of weeks following his recovery from a hamstring injury and was in line to travel with the group to Watford on Saturday.

But City manager Gary Rowett has said that he has missed a couple of days of training this week, and that is set to prevent his involvement at Vicarage Road, which would have been his first appearance of 2026.

It means it’s likely to be the same squad from the past couple of outings, with no fresh concerns but no anticipated comebacks either.

Centre-back Jannik Vestergaard is another who is close to a return, having not played since January because of a hernia operation, but it’s more likely that his first game back will be against Preston on Good Friday.
