Everton supporter Steve Zocek has blasted television schedulers after the Blues’ trip to Arsenal was moved for a second time, just 15 days prior to the fixture, having already been given a new slot.
Everton’s away match with the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium was originally supposed to take place at 3pm on Saturday March 14. However, in late January, the game was switched to Sky Sports’ 2pm kick-off slot on Sunday March 15.
That decision prompted many fans such as Mr Zocek to make their travel plans, but with Arsenal’s Champions League round of 16 second leg at home to Bayer Leverkusen now being played on Tuesday March 17, on Friday February 27, Everton’s game at the Emirates reverted back to Saturday March 14, but in Sky’s 5:30pm television slot with the ECHO understanding that Hill Dickinson Stadium chiefs fought against being given an 8pm kick-off time.
The rearrangement now means there are two 5:30pm matches, with Chelsea v Newcastle United being played at the same time, both on Sky Sports, while West Ham United v Manchester City kicks off at 8pm on Saturday on TNT. There are three games kicking off at 2pm...
