Heavy traffic is expected in the city centre tonight with Southampton playing Arsenal at St Mary's Stadium.

Fans are set to come together to watch the FA Cup quarter-final at 8pm, with a sellout crowd expected.

A warning has been issued as the roads will likely become very busy before and after the match, with supporters making their way to and from St Mary's Stadium.

Southampton City Council has issued advice for those planning to advance through the expected traffic, recommending the use of the park and ride.

The council advised: "Skip the stress and go marching in on the PR2 matchday Park & Ride.

"Park at Adanac Park, buses every 20 mins, its free for tomorrow's match.

"Bring your family, bring your mates, and bring the noise — come on you Saints."

Buses will be running every 20 mins for the PR2 matchday Park & Ride service.

Kick-off is at 8pm.
