Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders. 

The 20-year-old Belgian goalkeeper is currently on loan at Strasbourg, and he has been excellent for the French outfit. According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have now initiated a move to sign the player and have made enquiries about him. However, the player is highly rated at Chelsea, and they have no intention of letting him move.

Liam Rosenior has previously labelled him as a “top” keeper.

Mike Penders could have replaced Vicario

Guglielmo Vicario has been criticised for his error-prone displays since joining the club, and Spurs are open to letting him leave in the summer. They will need to replace him properly, and the young Belgian could have been a future investment.

Chelsea paid £17 million to sign the 6ft 7in player, and they are hoping to groom him into their first-choice keeper next season. His displays in Ligue 1 suggest he is ready to compete at a high level regularly. There is no doubt that he would have been a quality addition for Tottenham as well.
