Manchester United star Benjamin Sesko is already enjoying a superb debut season.

Sesko moved to United from RB Leipzig last summer for a fee of £66.3 million.

The Red Devils were far from alone in the race to secure his signature.

According to The Sun, Chelsea were so keen to sign Sesko in 2022 that they were ready to offer “whatever he wanted.”

Arsenal also seriously considered a move for the Slovenian international.

The Gunners were so desperate that they offered a higher salary than the one Sesko eventually accepted at Old Trafford. They ultimately settled on Viktor Gyokeres.

The 22-year-old has silenced his critics by netting nine goals and recording one assist in just 25 appearances across all competitions.

What makes that return even more impressive is the fact that many of those outings have come from the bench.

Pundits including Gary Neville and Roy Keane have questioned aspects of his game, but the young striker has responded in the best possible way.
