Journalist Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be in the market to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.

The expectation is that Tottenham will undertake an ambitious summer rebuild if they preserve their Premier League status.

The Lilywhites have to strengthen key areas of the pitch and are also facing the prospect of losing some senior men this summer.

One player, who has started every Premier League game for the North Londoners this term, may be one of those who need to be replaced.

Guglielmo Vicario continues to be heavily linked with a return to Serie A, with Juventus and Inter Milan both thought to be interested in the 29-year-old.

O’Rourke believes that the Italian may well be on his way out of N17 and expects Tottenham to hunt for a new first-choice goalkeeper.

The journalist told Football Insider: “If Vicario does end up leaving Tottenham in the summer, they’re going to have to bring in a replacement.

“There’s no doubt about that, they know they will need a new goalkeeper if they’re going to let their first choice move on in the window.
