Liverpool Transfer News: Liverpool’s interest in Denzel Dumfries has taken concrete shape this week. Italian outlet Tuttomercato (TMW) reports that Liverpool retain a firm interest in the Inter Milan wing-back ahead of a decisive summer. According to the report, Inter Milan are growing anxious. They fear the Reds could move to activate a €25 million release clause in the Dutchman’s contract. This clause becomes valid exclusively throughout July 2026. The fixed fee, roughly £21 million in sterling, carries no restrictions or limitations once triggered. This means Liverpool could essentially bypass Inter entirely and conclude the deal on their own terms.

Dumfries signed a contract extension keeping him at San Siro until June 2028. He only recently returned to action in late February. Before that, an ankle injury that required surgery in early December sidelined him for three and a half months. Liverpool first explored a loan move for the player during the January window. At that time, Conor Bradley suffered a serious knee injury against Arsenal, and Jeremie Frimpong also dropped out injured.
