Dominik Szoboszlai has been one of the few consistent bright sparks in what has been a dire campaign for Liverpool.

Earlier this season, when he was still Tottenham Hotspur manager, Thomas Frank called Szoboszlai a ‘beast’.

The praise for the Hungarian has been constant throughout the campaign, with Steven Gerrard also calling him ‘Liverpool’s best player’. In turn, it is perhaps not surprising that the former RB Leipzig man is higher rated than Jude Bellingham and Pedri this term.

WhoScored has now released a list of the top-rated midfielders in Europe’s big five leagues so far.

Across all competitions, only Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has a higher rating than Szoboszlai at 7.53.

The Liverpool star takes second place on the list with a rating of 7.41, followed by Hakan Calhanoglu (7.32).

FC Barcelona ace Pedri takes fourth place (7.24), while Bellingham rounds out the top five with a 7.23 rating across all competitions in 2025/26.
