A goal in each half from Jack Stevens fired Oldham to 2-0 home win against struggling Crawley.
Stevens' double secured Latics a third win in a row and condemned Crawley to their 11th defeat on the road.
Town arrived at Boundary Park with the worst away record in League Two and showed little sign of improving that statistic in a first half that belonged to Oldham.
Micky Mellon's men had scored early goals in their previous two games and should have done so again with the amount of chances created.
But they were thwarted by the resilience of goalkeeper Jacob Chapman, who saved well from Stevens, Mike Fondop and Calum Kavanagh before Oldham made a deserved breakthrough.
Stevens' first was from close range in the 38th minute, converting a Jake Caprice cross at the far post.
His second was all of his own making, collecting a headed clearance from a Crawley free-kick and running from his own half to finish clinically past Chapman.
