Josh Gentles has committed to Rangers until summer 2027.

The 18-year-old striker was meant to finish his contract this summer but has extended for another year.

Currently, Gentles is on loan to Alloa Athletic, as part of a cooperation agreement with Rangers.

He's made four goal contributions in five League One matches and was involved with the Rangers first team during pre-season.

Gentles also had a stint at Raith Rovers on loan earlier in the campaign.

About his contract extension with Rangers, Gentles said: "I’m really excited.

"Rangers have been part of my life since a young age and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my journey through the Academy.

"It was an excellent experience being part of the first-team squad throughout pre-season, and it was a dream come true to run out at Ibrox in Rangers colours.

"I know there’s still a lot of hard work ahead of me, but I’m ready to give everything to keep developing and make the most of this opportunity."

In other Rangers news, another young player, Alexander Smith, has joined Dumbarton on loan.
