Is the reason why Leeds United are conceding so many late goals down to bad luck, or bad defending? It seems to be a mixture of both, according to the statistics.
Leeds have conceded 12 goals after the 85th-minute this Premier League season, which is the most in the whole division. Tammy Abraham’s 88th-minute kneed equaliser on Saturday means United have now dropped nine points in the final embers of a game.
Many have mused over the cause of this trend, one that Daniel Farke has to answer for given his team’s league-high record. Is it to do with substitutions? Is it to do with physical and mental fatigue? Is it a mere coincidence?
