Huddersfield Town midfielder Marcus McGuane insists he has to “give back” to the club, the players and the supporters following his lengthy injury absence.

The summer signing from Bristol City featured just once in the first half of the campaign owing to a groin injury, which kept him sidelined for just under five months.

The 27-year-old made his comeback in the EFL Trophy against Rotherham United last month, and has since gone on to start League One matches against Bradford City and Peterborough United.

“When I was coming here, I wanted to play every game, I came here to play, I came here to get the club promoted and back to where it should be, and with the plan in place, I feel like it’s got everything to push on,” McGuane told BBC Radio Leeds following Saturday’s 3-2 win against the Posh.
