Arsenal and Chelsea remain among the clubs keeping a close watch on Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon, according to Somos Fanaticos.
The Brazilian club are aware of enquiries from Europe but remain calm about his future for now.
Corinthians believe they still control the situation and see no immediate need to consider a sale.
Their stance has been reinforced by the club’s football executive, Marcelo Paz, who addressed the reports directly.
Corinthians calm amid growing interest
Paz spoke to Globo Esporte after Corinthians’ Super Cup victory over Flamengo, where he explained the club’s position.
“He has a very strong contract, a secure deal, with a long time left at Corinthians. He’s receiving enquiries, but he’s unlikely to leave in this window,” he said.
The executive made it clear that Bidon remains protected by a solid agreement with the club. Corinthians feel comfortable due to the length and strength of the midfielder’s contract.
He explained that European clubs usually act with more force later in the year.
...“The mid-year window is when squads in Europe really take shape. It’s a more aggressive window, with more movement,” he explained.
“For now, we’re going to enjoy Bidon as much as possible.”
