John Terry activated full ’embarrassing dad mode’ and went against his daughter’s advice by posting a video of himself watching the closing stages Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final defeat against Arsenal.

Trailing 3-2 from the first leg at Stamford Bridge, the Blues were already facing a mountain to climb ahead of last night’s return fixture at Emirates Stadium.

Liam Rosenior’s cautious gameplan was heavily criticised after the game, but by keeping themselves within a goal of forcing the contest into extra-time as the clock ticked down, Terry sensed an opportunity and took to social media in anticipation of a thrilling climax.

With the match on in his enormous TV, Terry implored his old side to find a way past Arsenal’s impregnable defence.
