Huddersfield Town midfielder Herbie Kane has joined Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old made nine appearances for Town in the early part of the campaign, but hasn’t featured since September due to a groin injury.

Kane will now spend the second half of the season with fellow League One outfit Argyle, who sit 14th in the table.

“Coming off a long setback, the best thing to get Herbie back up to speed is regular meaningful minutes, and that’s not something we can guarantee him here with the competition for places we have in midfield areas, especially with other players hoping to return from their own injuries in the near future too,” Town’s head coach Liam Manning told his club’s website.

“A shame for him to have missed so much of the season with injury, Plymouth Argyle are an ambitious side themselves with their own goals for the season, so that’s no bad environment to join. We’ll keep tabs on how Herbie progresses, and wish him nothing but the best out on loan.”
