I will always remember the 1974/1975 season with great fondness, even though the Hatters were relegated.

I was just a teenager and, the previous season, a draw away to West Bromwich Albion had earned Luton Town a place in the top-flight of English football.

All summer I saved my paper round money, to purchase a season ticket, so I could watch every home game.

Wonderful memories were generated that are still fresh in my mind.

Yesterday (Sunday), I tuned into the popular programme, on ITV4, to watch The Big Match Revisited, only to find that one of the three games shown was our last game of that season, played on 26th April 1975.

Struggling to escape relegation, Luton Town needed a win to help their cause.

In front of a crowd of 20,768, it was to be Manchester City who were to take the lead when a poor back pass, from Jimmy Ryan, saw Dennis Tueart fire past Keith Barber.
