The closure date for the January transfer window is, strangely, Monday 02 February at 1900 hours.

That, even with my poor mathematics, is just over a week away.

I find it hard to accept that, the past twenty-four days have drifted by with little or no action, from Luton Town, when it comes to improving the squad.

Okay, I know these things take time, what with all the parties involved trying to grab what they can, but such inactivity, when it comes to bringing players in, leaves us wide open to one accusation.

The accusation that we will be forced to bargain hunt on the final day of the transfer window, Monday 2nd February, to boost an ailing squad and placate the support.

It is, I’m afraid a trait not only the Hatters are guilty of but numerous other clubs, the term ‘panic buying’ springs to mind.

But with just over a week to go, before the window slams shut, it remains to be seen which irons the Hatters hierarchy pull out of the fire.
