On January 15th, West Ham United confirmed the appointment of Paco Jémez as their new assistant manager. He became the latest addition to Nuno Espírito Santo’s back room staff midway through the season.

The Spaniard started his coaching career almost two decades ago. Jémez was then a head coach throughout his career until he moved to West Ham.

Earlier this month, AS stated the 55-year-old had received multiple offers since leaving Ibiza in October 2025. He turned them down as none were convincing enough until West Ham arrived.

Nuno’s call made the difference and that was key for the coach to join him at the London club.

Jémez has appeared as a guest on Cadena Ser to discuss his a few topics about the Premier League side.

“There wasn’t much convincing to do. He told me he needed my help, and I thought about experiencing the Premier League from the inside. He values ​​me a lot and lets me do what I think is best,” he said.

The West Ham assistant was also pressed for his take on Real Madrid parting ways with Xabi Alonso.
