Arsenal have been sent a verdict on Dan Ballard's goal for Sunderland in their Premier League clash. Despite a tussle with Declan Rice, there was no issue with the former Gunners player's actions, but instead a decision made by referee Craig Pawson to give a free-kick for a foul on Wilson Isidor and show a yellow card to Martin Zubimendi.

Sky Sports co-commentator Don Goodman was of the belief a foul should have been given, but not a booking shown to Arsenal's defensive midfielder. Prior to the goal, he said: "Craig Pawson is signalling it's because he (Zubimendi) pulls him back with the arms because the challenge on the ground does not merit a yellow card.

"It doesn't have to be a yellow card, it's a foul fine but it doesn't have to be a yellow card."

After the goal was scored, he added: "There's all kinds of things that are going to be checked by VAR here. Is this a foul? No, I don't think so. Declan Rice...
