PSV Eindhoven have been left panicking over the future of youngster Dele Thomas, with Aston Villa in the mix.

That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, who report that the 18-year-old is ‘coveted’ and Aston Villa are one of the sides making moves.

They explain that PSV and Thomas’ entourage have been in talks for weeks about an extension to his current deal. Some progress seems to be being made on that front.

Thomas can likely sign a three- or four-year deal under ‘significantly improved terms’. But the problem for PSV is that they cannot compete financially with offers from other clubs. Thomas has options on that points.

Eintracht Frankfurt were the first to show an interest. Now Aston Villa are ‘also in the market’ for the ‘speedy winger’. Both sides are aware that Thomas is set to be a free agent after this season.

It’s explained that PSV would only receive a modest training allowance and a substantial signing fee if he moves to the Bundesliga. It would likely be the same for a move to the Premier League with Aston Villa.
