Ruben Amorim has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo's brutal Manchester United criticism

Ruben Amorim has conceded that Cristiano Ronaldo was spot on when he pointed out the "lot of mistakes" Manchester United have made in recent years.

The United boss was reacting to comments from the club's former talisman, who launched another attack on his previous employers during a chat with Piers Morgan. Ronaldo suggested Amorim faced a mammoth task in turning United's fortunes around because of the framework surrounding him.

Whilst acknowledging past errors, Amorim predictably offered a far rosier view of where the club stands today. "Of course, he knows he has huge impact on everything he says," he told reporters ahead of United's clash with Tottenham on Saturday.

"But what we need to focus on is in future. We know as a club we made a lot of mistakes in the past. We are trying to change that.
