Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel could be dropped by Denmark for their clash against Belarus.

That’s according to Tipsbladet, who report Brian Riemer has a decision to make on the Celtic goalkeeper. They explain that three Danish players are currently in danger of being suspended. Schmeichel is one of them.

That means Riemer has a decision to make ahead of the must-win game against Belarus next week. He needs to decide whether to sacrifice his three players for that game, ahead of a trip to Glasgow to take on Scotland.

That’s seen as a crucial game as well and the Denmark coach is weighing up dropping the Celtic goalkeeper for the Belarus game to ensure he’s available to take on Scotland. It was a subject he was questioned on, with Tipsbladet providing his response.

“I understand what you are saying,” he said.

“That there is a little less risk of you getting into a stupid tackle and getting a cheap yellow card. It will most often be a big yellow card or a stupid yellow card if a goalkeeper gets it.
