Aston Villa are steadily working through their squad housekeeping with the futures of Matty Cash and now John McGinn secured in the last few weeks.

Just a couple of weeks ago Cash signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him in Claret & Blue until 2029.

Then on Wednesday it was confirmed McGinn had committed to stay at Villa Park until 2028, having already been at the club seven years.

Now it has been claimed they are looking to tie down crown jewel Morgan Rogers, just a year after handing him a long-term contract until 2030.

That came just nine months after he joined from Middlesbrough on transfer deadline day in February 2024.

That claim is made by Fabrizio Romano who says Villa are 'talking' to the 23-year-old and that while nothing is close yet there have been 'initial talks as he's next on the list'. Romano has also claimed Rogers could be targeted...
