Manchester United remain interested in Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque, but a deal looks unlikely in the short term.

The Brazilian club have no plans to sell the 20-year-old, according to ESPN, which reports that Palmeiras consider him “indispensable” to Abel Ferreira’s project – regardless of any offer that may arrive in January 2026.

Earlier, Roque’s agent André Cury told Globo Esporte that an approach from the Premier League could be imminent. His comments reignited speculation across Europe, prompting renewed links with Manchester United, who are monitoring the striker’s progress but have yet to make a formal bid.

However, Palmeiras believe Roque’s recent call-up to the Brazilian national team will help them keep him for another season.

Club sources told ESPN they see the Seleção as a key factor to convince him to stay – at least through 2026. They expect the forward to treat the club as a strong platform to secure his World Cup place.

Since joining Palmeiras in February 2025 for £21m (€25.5m), Roque has scored 17 goals and provided five assists. His consistency has turned him into one of the most valuable players in South America.
