Ben Nelson has been handed his first Leicester City league start of the season with Marti Cifuentes opting for a change of formation for the clash with Middlesbrough.

Nelson, who has not played since an error-filled display against Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup in August, comes in to play alongside captain Jannik Vestergaard and Caleb Okoli in a back three.

Marti Cifuentes has opted for a change of system amid City’s poor form, with the club looking to avoid a fourth straight defeat on Tuesday night. They’ve not lost four in a row in the second tier since 2010.

Nelson is one of four changes to the side. Luke Thomas comes back in and will play as the left-sided wing-back, with no Victor Kristiansen in the squad. Abdul Fatawu is on the right.

In midfield, Oliver Skipp makes his first start in nearly two months alongside Harry Winks, with Jordan James set to play further ahead.
