Lewis Dobbin and Mads Frokjaer-Jensen’s goals were enough to see off the Saints, who consequently sacked manager Will Still after the defeat.

Dobbin’s goal came from a goal mouth scramble, after Alfie Devine drilled a pass into the feet of the former Norwich man, but he managed to beat Alex McCarthy and tap it home to give the Lilywhites the lead – his fourth of the season.

The away performance was capped off with a last minute finish from Frokjaer, after a counter attack down the left hand side allowed the Dane to link up with Stefan Thordarson to seal the three points and take them back to Lancashire.
