Sheffield Wednesday host fellow Championship strugglers Norwich City at Hillsborough on Bonfire Night. For the Owls, it’s seen as much more than just a battle for three points.

There have been pleas from the club to get as many fans through the gates as possible. This is not just to help raise money while the club is in administration, but to help impress those interested in the club.

With prospective buyers eyeing up a potential takeover of Sheffield Wednesday, the game against Norwich City is seen as a chance to show what any interested buyer could be taking on.

In a statement on the website, joint administrator Kris Wigfield said:

“It’s been an emotional week for everyone connected with Sheffield Wednesday. 

“The players showed incredible heart at West Brom, and the supporters have shown heart all week — through everything you’ve done for this club. 

“Now it’s time to bring that same fight home. On Wednesday 5 November, we return to Hillsborough for Blue & White Night — and this one means more than just football. 

“I know it’s Bonfire Night.
