Newcastle United have confirmed the exit of commercial chief Peter Silverstone after three years in the boardroom at St James' Park.

The arrival of CEO David Hopkinson has led to a 100-day review at the club but Silverstone has opted to leave for pastures new. Chronicle Live understands that the club's Director of People and Talent Dominica O'Neil is also expected to leave.

Silverstone has been placed on gardening leave but is understood to have opportunities lined up abroad. Silverstone's exit is the third high profile departure in the last month.

CEO Darren Eales also left his post for health reasons with Hopkinson taking his place. Newcastle chairman, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, said then: "Darren has played a vital role in the growth and success of Newcastle United in his three years as CEO.

"We thank him sincerely for his immense contribution to the club and extend our very best wishes to him and his family for the future..

"I would like to personally thank Darren for his friendship. He will always be welcomed at St. James' Park."
