Liverpool women's star Mia Enderby was taken to hospital for treatment with a suspected neck injury following an incident during their defeat to Tottenham.

Play was stopped for over ten minutes when Reds forward Enderby seemed to fall awkwardly on her neck whilst challenging for an aerial ball and, following extensive medical attention, was stretchered off the pitch. The extended delay led to 22 minutes of added time at the end of the match.

The 20-year-old had featured in every one of Liverpool's six Women's Super League fixtures this campaign and was in the starting XI against Spurs. Post-match, manager Gareth Taylor revealed he hadn't yet consulted with the club's medical team, describing the injury as "not nice to see".

He continued: "Hopefully she is OK. At one point I thought she was going to re-enter in terms of getting back up and start to play again but with those types of injuries it's really crucial we take care of them."
