Alexis Mac Allister receives Liverpool response after true colours shown

Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister has received a unanimous response from his teammates after Saturday's 2-0 win over Aston Villa. Mohamed Salah put Arne Slot's team ahead just before the half-time whistle after a mistake from Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Ryan Gravenberch then doubled the Reds' lead around an hour in to seal a crucial three points for Slot's men. The result has moved Liverpool up to third position going into Sunday's games, after they ended a run of four straight Premier League defeats.

The Reds return to action on Tuesday evening at home to Real Madrid in the Champions League, before returning to domestic action next Sunday at Manchester City.
