Everton head coach Brian Sorensen has urged for patience after the Toffees’ slow start to the Women’s Super League season.

With injuries disrupting the chance of any early-season momentum, Sorensen insists Everton are focused on progress and consistency as they prepare to face Aston Villa.

Everton currently sit tenth in the table ahead of their visit to Aston Villa. After beating Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield on the opening weekend, the Toffees have failed to win their last five WSL matches.

Sorensen made it clear in his pre-match press conference that league position is not a concern at this stage and that success will be judged over the full campaign.

He said: “For me, there’s no panic; it’s still so early in the season. Let’s see where we are at when we get to May but for now, it’s just about working hard, making sure that we get the details right and getting better at what we want to be better at.”

Sorensen also underlined how the absence of key players has affected the team’s rhythm.
