Thomas Frank rang the changes in Tottenham’s defeat to Newcastle, and it was a disappointing evening for several of the players who started at St James’ Park.

Tottenham Hotspur exited the Carabao Cup at the hands of Newcastle United, who cruised to a 2-0 win at St James’ Park.

Thomas Frank’s team put up a strong fight against the Tyneside club, however, too many spurned chances meant they fell to defeat.

Frank’s experiment of selecting Antonin Kinsky to start against Newcastle failed to pay off as the youngster struggled in the Carabao Cup tie.

A few weeks prior, there had been plenty of shouts for the 22-year-old to come into the team, especially when Vicario wasn’t playing well.

But against Newcastle, Kinsky, who Tottenham signed for £13m, made quite a poor play for Nick Woltemade’s goal, as he misjudged the flight of the ball.
