Former striker Emile Heskey says Jadon Sancho can still revive his career but has questioned whether that will happen during his loan spell at Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old is spending the season at Villa on loan from Manchester United, following a similar path in an effort to rediscover his form - much like his close friend Marcus Rashford did last term.

Sancho has made five appearances under Unai Emery and is still searching for his first goal, having come close against Brentford in the Carabao Cup and again against Manchester City last weekend.

Introduced in the 19th minute against City to replace the injured Emi Buendia, Sancho was later substituted in the second half - a decision that sparked some surprise across social media.

After the match, Emery explained that the substitution was simply due to Sancho still building up his fitness.

Former Villa forward Heskey has now shared his thoughts on Sancho’s situation, insisting that the winger still has plenty of time to return to the levels he displayed earlier in his career.
