Amara Nallo was consoled by Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool’s miserable run of form continued against Crystal Palace. Oliver Glasner’s side have now beaten the Reds three times in three months after winning their Carabao Cup tie 3-0 at Anfield.

Ismaila Sarr’s first-half brace put Glasner’s side in control, with Yeremy Pino’s first goal for his side securing their passage into the quarter-final. For Liverpool, though, Arne Slot’s decision to make 10 changes and leave star players out of the squad backfired.

One of those players handed an opportunity was young centre-back Nallo, who replaced Alexis Mac Allister just after the hour mark.
