Manchester United fans may have to wait considerably longer than thought to hear any news on the much-anticipated new stadium.

Years of Glazer neglect

Old Trafford is one of football’s most iconic and historical stadiums but it has seen better days.

Many visitors in recent years have commented on how it feels a relic and has been left behind by many new builds across Britain and Europe.

The Glazer family have faced substantial criticism over their lack of investment and frankly interest in taking Old Trafford into the 21st century.

New stadium delight

Nonetheless, this all changed earlier in the year when minority owners Ineos announced that they are preparing to build a new 100,000 seater stadium that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has referred to the “Wembley of the North”.

It has been reported recently though that the club could be set to abandon a key feature of the new ground which is the tent like dome that was seen in images released earlier this year.

United had run into problems over the buying land around the current stadium to build the large dome over the structure but there has reportedly been progress in negotiations with the company...
