Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has been handed a massive boost ahead of the hectic festive schedule.

Lisandro Martinez is officially back in full training with the first-team squad, marking a huge step forward in his long-awaited recovery.

Martinez has been sidelined since early February, after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) against Crystal Palace.

The £36 million-rated star is one of the best ball playing defenders in the Premier League, possessing ability to line-breaking passes forward from deep.

Luke Shaw has been the undisputed starter in that spot this campaign but it would be no surprise to see him on the bench when Martinez is fully fit.
