Five minutes before half-time, and five minutes before Femi Azeez scored the game’s deciding goal, a loose ball broke to Abdul Fatawu and he surged towards the Millwall box.

The Leicester City winger’s pace had taken a couple of defenders out of the game. It was a three-on-three, with Aaron Ramsey and Jeremy Monga in space to his left.

Monga in particular was screaming for the ball. Fatawu ignored him, instead going for goal from 25 yards. He shanked the shot badly and flew wildly out for a goal kick.

It was a moment that presents City with a dilemma. At the time, it seemed like a poor decision on Fatawu’s part. In the context of how the fixture then panned out, it seemed even worse.

Fatawu’s decision to go for goal and not use Monga felt decisive. City could have created a far bigger chance to score and had they taken the lead, it would have changed the complexion of the match.
