Rangers manager Danny Rohl has given an update on the club's search for a new first-team coach.

The position is reportedly a toss-up between Steven Davis and Neil McCann, both of whom have played for and coached the club in the past.

The hunt for a new coach comes after Rohl's first league victory as Rangers' manager.

The team secured a 3-1 win against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Next up is a trip to Easter Road to play Hibs, with the aim of stringing a couple of positive results today before Sunday's huge League Cup semi-final against Celtic.

Rohl, 36, is keen to add someone with knowledge of the club to his backroom staff.

However, he stressed the importance of the new coach being a valuable contributor to the team, and not just a familiar face.

The German manager said: "Yeah, we are still looking, we have a shortlist now.

"I think this is important, and I'm also very clear what the profile should be.

"For me, it's important that maybe a next assistant coach...
