Getafe were keen on signing AFC Bournemouth’s Enes Ünal in January but didn’t make advances after he suffered a serious knee injury. This forced him to spend over 300 days on the sidelines.

Last week, the striker made his return in the Cherries’ 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, and this caught Getafe’s attention. He spent over three years at the La Liga club before joining Bournemouth in 2024.

Estadio Deportivo now report Getafe are again looking at the Bournemouth player and he’s a ‘real option’ for them in the winter market.

They didn’t lose sight of the 28-year-old during his recovery and continue to follow him. There’s always been a special bond between him and the Spanish club, who haven’t closed the door on him.

Having shown ‘strong interest’ at the start of this year, Getafe are now monitoring Ünal’s every move. The next few weeks will be crucial to find out whether he has made positive progress.

Getafe believe the Turkey international needs regular minutes to regain form and fitness. Ünal knows the club well, is appreciated by the coaches and the fans, and these factors make the club an ‘ideal environment’.
