The Italian press have continually linked Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali with a move to Juventus.

There has always been an underlying regret about his departure from Italy to England. This leads to the midfielder regularly being talked about by the media in his home country.

Former Juventus player and ex-Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has been asked about the 25-year-old in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

He made it clear that the Newcastle United player is doing enough to deserve a spot at Juventus.

Prandelli told the newspaper: “Tonali is no Modric, but he has everything it takes to take over a big club like Juventus.”

He also expressed doubts about whether the Old Lady can actually sign the player.

“I don’t know if it’s possible, but it would certainly be a great coup.”

It will be difficult for any club to sign Tonali from Newcastle United, and that includes Serie A’s big guns.

That isn’t just because of the player’s performances. His current deal at St James’ Park runs until 2029. The Magpies have the option to extend it till 2030.
