Newcastle United could be hit with an astronomical bill if they chose to go back in for old boy Elliot Anderson.

With Eddie Howe admitting he would be interested in re-signing the midfielder earlier this season, the battle to win his signature could be a fierce one. Newcastle offloaded Anderson to Nottingham Forest in June 2024 after being forced into the sale to avoid a six-point deduction from the Premier League.

With Newcastle luring Ross Wilson from Forest as sporting director, there are high hopes that the man who helped prise Anderson from Tyneside holds the keys to getting him home. But a sky high asking price would appear to be on the cards.

A £35m fee proved to be a club record at that time, but he has since risen to international level with England and Forest - who don't want to sell him - have slapped a fee ranging between £100m -£120m for his services moving forward - according to fresh reports.
