Liverpool could be without a number of key players when they face Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup. Arne Slot's Reds are back in action on home soil on Wednesday evening and will hope to find more consistency against the Eagles.

While the club have shone bright in the Champions League, securing a 5-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this month, their form in the Premier League leaves major room for improvement. Liverpool are currently on a four-game losing streak in the top flight, as a result of losses to Palace, Chelsea, Manchester United and Brentford.

As a result, the side currently occupy 7th place in the English top-flight standings, seven points adrift of league leaders Arsenal, and are set to face Aston Villa in their next outing come Saturday. However, Slot has a tricky EFL Cup clash with Palace to navigate beforehand, as he looks to bolster the trophy cabinet at Anfield.
