Anthony Gordon's sparkling form for Newcastle United will not have gone unnoticed at Liverpool this season - but the Anfield side have been told to forget about any move for the England winger.

Gordon was named man of the match for his eye-catching performance against Benfica in last week's Champions League win for Eddie Howe's men, and now has four goals in just three games in the competition.

He was linked with a move to Liverpool in 2024, and his name was again mentioned last summer as Arne Slot looked to build a new-look forward line following the departure of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.

However, while Alexander Isak swapped Tyneside for Merseyside in a record £130m deal, former Newcastle and England star Chris Waddle believes Gordon will be more focused on starring for United - and ensuring he keeps his place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad ahead of next summer's World Cup.
