Despite starting Liverpool’s win over Eintracht Frankfurt on the bench, all eyes were still on Mohamed Salah at the Deutsche Bank Park.

The Egyptian has been in the midst of arguably his most difficult spell since joining the Reds in 2017.

As a result, Arne Slot made the decision to hold Salah back as Liverpool went in search of an end to their four-game losing streak.

With the team winning comfortably, Slot brought Salah on for the final 16 minutes, although his cameo suggested that the 33-year-old may have to sit out of another game on Saturday.

Supporters were disappointed after seeing Salah pass up a good chance to hand Florian Wirtz his first Liverpool goal. Instead of squaring to Wirtz for a tap in, the Egyptian King took the shot himself, tamely firing straight at the goalkeeper.

There was greater sorrow for fans when it was reported that Salah headed straight down the tunnel at full-time, with the legendary winger said to have been in a ‘strop’ at the end of the match. Having digested this news, Liverpool supporters appear in no mood to entertain Salah’s frustration.
