Reading owner Rob Couhig has said he feels "a little level of frustration" with their poor start to the League One season.

A win against Northampton Town last night lifted them out of the relegation zone after a run of four winless matches.

Five defeats and five draws accompany three wins this season and manager Noel Hunt has come under some pressure to deliver results.

"Everyone's a little anxious," Couhig told BBC South Today before Tuesday night's match.

"We're 25% of the way through the season, there are things we wish we were doing better on the pitch but there's a little level of frustration.

"The club is so close to really producing but of course you can only say that for so long."

Couhig completed his purchase of Reading back in May as he agreed to take over from controversial previous owner Dai Yongge.

Former Reading player Hunt has been in charge since December 2024 when he took over from the departing Ruben Selles.

Couhig opted to keep Hunt as boss and has backed his man throughout his time at the SCL.
