Former Burnley boss Sean Dyche has agreed to take over at Nottingham Forest, according to multiple reports. At one time Dyche was linked with the West Ham role in the managerial merry-go round that has dogged both West Ham and the Tricky Trees in recent months.

Not the most expansive or appealing football, perhaps, is heading Forest fans’ way now that Dyche has ‘verbally agreed’ to take the Nottingham Forest role. It’ll certainly not be pretty viewing with the gruff former Burnley manager rarely setting the world on fire with his own performances in front of the cameras at press conferences.

But perhaps this is what Forest need: Dyche was linked with the West Ham job and considered something of a Sam Allardyce-type  street fighter who’d be perfect for a rescue mission at the City ground.
