There is always a lot riding on the most watched match in club football. But this afternoon's heavyweight clash, particularly so.

Liverpool, the favourites, go into the game on back of suffering three straight defeats for the first time in Arne Slot's reign. United, meanwhile, did win before the international break, but they have never recorded back-to-back league victories under Ruben Amorim.

To do that today, they will have to win at the home of their bitter rivals for the first time since January 2016.

Their opponents will be determined not to let that happen. Not least because they need a win of their own to claw back ground in the title race. Arsenal, after three straight successes, are now four points clear at the top.
